Police in Shanghai, China, recently uncovered a marriage and romance fraud case involving a fake soldier. A 35- year -old man who claimed to be the " captain " of a certain unit defrauded a total of more than 200,000 yuan (about 27,560 U.S. dollars) in marriage fraud.

The man claimed to be the " commander " of a certain army unit and showed the police a photo of him wearing a military uniform and wearing the rank of colonel. However, in the photo, the medals on his chest were in four rows, and his rank insignia was a division-level with two red stars, which was obviously inconsistent with his rank as the " commander " . His rank insignia was hung on the bottom row, and his age of 35 showed that he had " 30 years of military service " , which was obviously a fake.

Faced with the various loopholes pointed out by the police, the suspect Liu Mouwen finally admitted that he had forged his military identity.
