Since January 2025 , China, Myanmar and Thailand have launched a series of powerful crackdowns on online fraud groups in Myanmar. Thailand has taken comprehensive measures such as cutting off power, Internet and oil in the Myawaddy area of Myanmar, and has strengthened patrols and control on the Thai-Myanmar border to block the smuggling and transfer channels of fraudsters; Myanmar has deployed a centralized investigation of the Myawaddy area's electronic fraud park to arrest fraud suspects and rescue trapped Chinese citizens.
As of March 19 , in more than a month of joint operations, 7,363 foreigners have been detained in Myanmar's Internet fraud park for involvement in Internet fraud. Among them, 4,885 have been successfully repatriated to their respective countries. This China-Myanmar-Thailand joint crackdown has achieved significant phased results, demonstrating the three countries' firm determination to jointly combat transnational crimes such as telecommunications network fraud and maintain regional security and stability. In the future, the three countries will continue to deepen cooperation, further reduce the living space of Internet fraud crimes, and protect the property safety of people in various countries.
