The Karen Border Guard ( BGF ) of Myanmar told the media that after more than a month of clearing work, all the fraud gangs in the Shuigou Valley area have been eliminated, with more than 7,000 people arrested and about 1,000 people still at large.
BGF said that among the more than 7,000 people arrested , only more than 2,000 have been repatriated so far , and the rest are currently under centralized management. However, it costs about 3 million baht a month to solve the food and other expenses of these more than 5,000 people , which is a considerable expense.
The BGF spokesperson said that they could only use military funds to maintain expenses first, and hoped that all countries would bring back their citizens as soon as possible, and asked the Thai government to coordinate related matters.
