March 18, 2025 , Naing Mg Zaw, spokesman for the BGF Border Guard , solemnly 'stated': In the ongoing and in-depth special operations against telecommunications fraud, the BGF Border Guard has demonstrated firm determination and efficient action. With long-term intelligence collection and precise deployment planning, six major fraud leaders were successfully arrested. These six people have long played a key role in the telecommunications fraud industry chain, planning and implementing a series of complex and extremely harmful fraud cases, causing many victims to suffer serious property losses and mental trauma.
One of them is a 37- year-old Japanese man who is in a core decision-making position in the entire criminal network. According to investigations, he participated in organizing multiple transnational telecommunications fraud activities, using carefully designed rhetoric and high-tech means to defraud people in neighboring countries such as Thailand, with the amount involved reaching millions of dollars. Today, in accordance with the relevant procedures of international law enforcement cooperation, this Japanese fraud leader will be formally handed over to the Thai government so that the Thai side can conduct further judicial investigation and trial against him and let him bear the due legal consequences for his crimes.
At the same time, 194 Indonesian citizens and 19 Bangladeshi citizens will be repatriated today. Most of these people were lured or forced to participate in telecom fraud activities in the fraud park. In the process of rescuing them, the BGF border guards not only provided them with necessary living supplies and medical assistance, but also recorded each person's situation in detail to ensure that their identities were verified correctly. After close communication and coordination with the relevant departments of Indonesia and Bangladesh, this safe and orderly repatriation operation was arranged so that these citizens can return to their homeland as soon as possible, reunite with their families, and return to normal life. This operation fully demonstrates the BGF border guards' efforts to combat telecom fraud and their responsibility to maintain regional security and stability.
