March 6, 2025 , the Thai-Myanmar Border Command Center in Tak Province, Thailand, officially launched a large-scale repatriation operation to send 1,439 Chinese citizens stranded in Myawaddy, Myanmar, due to illegal employment, back to China in batches. According to the official announcement, the repatriation operation will last for 4 days, with a total of 19 special flights arranged for repatriation.

It is reported that the repatriation work is precisely arranged by 'date': the first batch of 457 people will leave for home on March 6 ; 456 people each on March 7 and 8 ; and the last 71 people will be repatriated in the final stage on March 9. Each flight carries about 76 people and is uniformly dispatched and arranged by the Chinese side.

The Thai immigration department stated that all deported persons will be subject to the " refusal of entry " procedure in accordance with the Immigration Act, and their personal information and biometric data will be entered into the system and permanently blacklisted, and they will not be able to enter Thailand again in the future.

Our reporter learned that at 9:14 am on March 6 , 12 buses full of people arrived at the No. 2 Bridge of the Thai-Myanmar Friendship Bridge. Among the first batch of 456 Chinese citizens , 451 were male and only 5 were female . After completing a series of identity verification procedures, these people have been transferred to Mae Sot International Airport and boarded 6 flights to return home.

The move by Thai officials is seen as an important measure to combat illegal cross-border employment, and also reflects the determination of regional countries to strengthen border control.
