Recently, the Royal Thai Police Chief Inspector General Tachai Pitanirap announced that the police raided a house in Sathorn District, Bangkok and arrested a Japanese criminal suspect. The police said that the suspect was named Yamakushi and was wanted by Japan for personal assault, fraud, theft and organized crime.

On March 13, 2025 , the Thai Immigration Bureau revoked Yamakushi 's visa at the request of the Japanese authorities and took him to the Third Branch of the Immigration Bureau for questioning after finding him. According to the investigation, Yamakushi was the leader of a Japanese mafia gang and the leader of a call center fraud gang based in Cambodia and Vietnam that targeted Japanese victims. The suspect founded Last Samurai Japan last year and engaged in the high-priced sale of artworks, which the police suspected might be used for money laundering.
