On March 6 , the police station of Pa Khao County, Loei Province, Thailand, accepted a transnational marriage fraud case that shocked both sides of the Taiwan Strait. A 34 -year-old man surnamed Xie from Kaohsiung, Taiwan, accompanied by a lawyer, accused a 25- year-old Thai woman, Kuntida, of using " marriage promises " as bait to manipulate her emotions for months, induce her to sell her property in Taiwan, and remit a total of 9.3 million Thai baht (about 285,000 US dollars) in 52 installments .

According to the victim, after the two met at an entertainment venue in Taiwan, Kuntida continued to borrow money on the pretext of " renovating the ancestral home and reselling it for profit " , and even carefully forged a photo of a 20 million baht bank deposit to create the illusion of repayment. In order to raise funds, Xie, who was deeply trapped in the emotional trap, mortgaged his property, and finally found that he had lost both his money and his life, and he had thoughts of committing suicide. The reporter found through on-site visits that the newly built 1,600 square meter mansion of the Kuntida family was exactly the same as the photo used in the fraud, but her mother claimed that she had no idea of the source of her daughter's funds.

What is shocking is that when Kuntida was interviewed, he admitted that he had squandered the stolen money on pleasure, and even said 'bluntly': " The photo of the cash is fake, I just lied to him . " Currently, the Thai police have intervened in the investigation. The transnational marriage and love fraud industry chain and emotional manipulation methods exposed in this case have aroused great public concern.
