Filipinos have shared their stories of cuts and bruises sustained after being attacked by Chinese at a suspected scam centre in Cambodia . " They were kicked and whipped. One of our victims got burned by a cigarette on his hand. Imagine, 15 people who look like Chinese hurt them . The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) rescued three Filipinos who were defrauded and hired as scammers in Cambodia.

According to the NBI , the victim found a job posting online offering a job as a customer service representative in Thailand with a salary of $ 1,000 . They were taken out through the back exit, flown to Dipolog, then took a ferry to Basilan and then to Tawi-Tawi . From here they were taken by boat to Sabah, where they were given fake border stamps in Malaysia. After that, they drifted around until they reached Cambodia.

In response, such victims were also beaten when they learned that they intended to leave.

The NBI continues to communicate with other agencies regarding Filipinos reportedly remaining in Cambodia.
